UNPLUGGED IN THE PARK HOTEL - 9 Nov 06

Could these Unplugged Nights get any better? Lots of musicians, some regulars, others who've never been down before, a great headline act, collaborations, improvisation... Who could ask for anything more on a Thursday night in Wivenhoe.

Once again this village has shown it's musical credentials with the singer-songwriter Mike Trim playing the main set. His powerful and emotive style sometimes make you forget the subtlety of his playing.

Thanks to everyone who made it such a good night.

Mitch started off the night at an unusually prompt 8.15pm

Rus and Mark played some superb covers and original material.

Matt only took a little persuading to play us some tunes.

They said it would never happen but finally John lived up to his word and played us a cover of a Beck song. Thanks John!

Iain played a few songs from his album he's working on.

Mike Trim played an hour of powerful and emotive songs.

Mike is one of Wivenhoe's most successful singer-songwriters
and, although this was his first gig in a while,
there were no signs of rust.

Mike's brilliant original songs are taken from his real life stories
and captivated the audience.

Iain and Dave got together for a few songs after Mike.

Nick's amusing song about perversion finished off another great night at the Park Hotel.
