UNPLUGGED IN THE PARK HOTEL - 28 Sept 06

If you missed this Unplugged night you will be disappointed. The most packed night of music at an Unplugged night so far, it featured no less than 8 groups comprising of over 17 musicians. All the groups and musicians are local so you couldn't get a better showcase of the musical variety in Wivenhoe.

A big thanks to everyone who played, improvised and lent gear to each other to make it a really special night.

Matt from local band Hyde started the evening.

Matt was joined by his dad to play a mix of covers
and original material.

Andy and Dom (or was it Dom and Andy?) sneaked an
electric guitar in but we'll let them off for playing a good set.

Andy, with a voice to rival the Crash Test Dummies.

Mitch and Fiona played some original blues and Bowie.
Respect to Mitch for getting up there and playing.

Dave and Gary, the second father and son team of the night, played original tunes and covers.

Folk Club favourite Nick gave us some upbeat folk tunes,
including one by Nick Drake.

Whirled Music took to the stage to play a mix of folk,
gospel and original material.

Cris and Tim play at the Unplugged nights regularly but this set showed their versatility.

Tim's 12-string and slide playing was especially good,
hopefully he'll play some more at the next night.

Whirled Music also featured the talents of Alexis on guitar and vocals. I was too busy listening to take a picture but with a bit of luck she'll be back to play us some more music.

Mike Trim's emotive impromptu closing set perfectly
finished off a packed night of music.
