UNPLUGGED IN THE PARK HOTEL - 14 Dec 06

The last Unplugged night of 2006 was another Thursday night filled with music and dancing. My favourite Wivenhoe band, Hobo Chang, played the main slot with a smoking set of dub, reggae and jazz. Before and after there were plenty of musicians playing on the Open Stage, some regulars and others who had come down for the first time.

Electric Inferno will be taking a break during January but we'll be back in Febuary for bigger and better events in Wivenhoe. The usual Unplugged nights will start again at the Park Hotel, and there are more plans underway for special events that musicians can be involved in, more about that next year...

Thanks to all the musicians and poets who've been involved this year and made the event work so well. A huge thanks to Lisa and Mitch from Park Hotel for hosting the nights and all the bar staff who've kept pouring the gin and juice. And finally a massive thank you to everyone who has come down and supported the events, without you lot none of it would be possible.

Have a fantastic New Year and we'll see you all in 2007!

Aron got things underway with a bit of Pink Floyd and Bread.

Matt was back with his dad to play some original material and covers, including the awesome "Spanish" version of Hotel California.

We were lucky enough to have the incredible talents of "2 Rabbits". Previously up at Club Crumpet, this highly original punk duo are well worth seeing. Their next gig is in January at the Arts Centre.

Psychadelic acoustic rock all the way from Colchester.

Fiona, singer and front for Hobo Chang.

Hobo Chang's combination of smoky vocals, raw reggae beats and smooth jazz grooves has given them a first class reputation.

Nick on guitar and Andy on drums providing the cut and thrust of Hobo Chang's sound.

Fiona was later joined on vocals by Sally Scoobs for a finale that the crowd didn't want to end.

After the band had cleared the stage Dave took on his usual brave task of following on from the main act.

Nick joined in later for some folk classics (but not Autumn Leaves).

Even Jamie the barman had a good time!
