UNPLUGGED IN THE PARK HOTEL - 22 March 07
We've been trying to get Nublues Unplugged to play at the Park Hotel since
the nights started last year. Finally they agreed to play and this was one of
the most anticipated gigs we've done so far.
Nublues' sound is inspired by the blues masters like Robert Johnson and BB
King and their original compositions have been very popular in Europe. Their debut
album has sold over 10,000 copies and a new album is planned for release very
soon.
The open mic players were also on top form, thanks to everyone who came and
played.

Alex and Steve played some classics, including a great
version of Hotel California.

Dave and Gary back on stage with a mix of covers and originals.

The much anticipated Nublues Unplugged took to the stage
with support from Jeff.

Jay shares a joke.

Nublues Unplugged play a mix of traditional Delta blues with a modern slant, incorporating
hip-hop and rap.

Ramon's National resonator guitar has a cutting
saw-tooth sound that's so indicative of the blues.

Jay's singing can go from sweet and smooth to
sounding like he's gargling gravel.

Accompanied by Jeff on washboard, Nublues Unplugged returned for an encore, playing
their European hit Bluesman on the run.

Black Cactus made a rare late appearance, knocking out
some 70s and 80s covers.

...and finally Andy sang us home from another great
night at the Park Hotel.
